Sail Country 2017 Report

Published Wed 17 Jan 2018

Sail Country Report 2017 — Sail Country has been another hugely successful event and little wonder why this event is one of the favourites on the sailing calendar.

With many families choosing to camp on-site, this weekend offered great sailing, relaxation and a chance to catch up with sailing friends. It is fantastic to see so many of the parents getting active by sailing, running, bike riding, horse riding and checking out the local wineries. This really was a true destination event!

After the two day regatta 20 Opti sailors extended their weekend and participated in a two day training camp with coaches Sam, Ricci & Tyrone. Tuesday they topped off the weekend with fun teams racing which was enjoyed by all.

With Green, Intermediate & Open fleet racing offered there was something for everyone. Just a reminder to book next years accommodation early.

Congratulations to the following sailors on their results:

Open Fleet:
1st Linus Talacko
2nd Finn McMahon
3rd Matty Goss

Intermediate Fleet:
1st Jay James
2nd Hope Withers
3rd Hayley Archer

1st Open Girl: Anna Cripsey
