WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
This winter lake coaching program offers a unique opportunity for young sailors to hone their skills, stay active, and have fun on the water during the colder months. We want to assist sailing clubs by keeping their sailors active in winter and see them return to their home clubs sharper, faster and energized just in time for Spring!
Launching from Albert Sailing Club allows sailors to keep their feet dry while parents can stay around for a 5km walk around the lake or have a coffee and picnic under the trees. It is a fantastic place to catch up with other Opti families and make some new friends! VIODA will also be conducting information sessions for parents on National / State team selections, regattas, training structures, overseas programs, boat rigging and transport knowledge.
Winter coaching dates will be split into 3 blocks. All trainings will be held at Albert Sailing Club, Albert Park Lake.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
VIODA Winter training program at the lake is only for registered VIODA members. FREE VIODA membership is available for 1st year Green fleeters!
Open, Intermediate and Green Fleet sailors are all welcomed!
The fleet will be coached by Australian Sailing certified coaches with rich Opti sailing history and have abundance of experience in both racing and international regattas. Coaches will be tailor-fitted into the various fleet, under the guidance of our VIC State Head Coach Jack Lewis and AUS Head Coach David White.

BLOCK 1 - AUD $220
May 19 and 26,
June 2 and 16,
(June 16 is full day team racing only for Intermediate and Open. Greens will follow usual timing)
BLOCK 2 - AUD $220
July 21 and 28
August 4 and11
BLOCK 3 - AUD $165
August 18 and 25

Arrival Time: 12.30pm
Rigged and Ready - 1.00pm
Back on shore - 4.00pm
Packed and Goodbye - 4:30pm
WHAT DOES THE BLOCK FEE INCLUDE?
1. VIODA Winter Beanie for all participants
2. Albert Sailing Club winter membership
3. Access to ASC club facilities
4. Access to ASC Club racing on Saturdays at 2pm
WHAT ARE THE OPTIONAL FEES?
1. Boat Storage available at Albert Sailing Club for $35 each block. Please book separately at the "SHOP"
