2021 Australian Optimist Championship - April 14-17, Adelaide Sailing Club

AIODA is hosting the 2021 Australian Championships at the Adelaide Sailing Club from April 14-17, 2021.

The Championships will be the sole selection event for the 2021 AOST and AODS. With overseas travel restrictions still imposed the AOST and AODS programs in 2021 will focus on providing quality coaching opportunities at camps and targeted events along with team and friendship building across state boundaries.

Given the above, and other factors relating to the current environment, the regatta will be run somewhat differently than Australian Championships held in the past. These differences include, but are not limited to, the following:

• No formal Measurement day. The NOR will state that measurement inspections by the Technical Committee could happen at any time during the regatta.
• No Teams Racing
• Reduced entry fees per boat and no late entry fees
• Entries managed as Expressions of Interest with fees payable prior to start of regatta
• Simplified Opening, Welcome and Presentation functions that are appropriately socially distanced
• Run an Open Championship of up to 10 races and an Intermediate Championship of up to 8 races
