VIODA - 2017 NSW Youth Championship Report — What a great weekend for Victoria! First the Richmond Tigers, then Melbourne Storm and now the Victorian Optimist fleet.

A delayed start on the final day to wait for breeze however the fleet was rewarded with yet another day of great racing on Lake Macquarie once the breeze filled in.

Team Victoria once again had a good day on the water and 60% of the top 10 finishers in Open fleet were from the "BIG V". We also had some great results in Intermediate fleet and further depth in the Open fleet.

A special mention to those that have stepped up from Intermediate to Open fleet. It can be a big jump and many of you showed grit & determination over the weekend with some really good racing and a good sign of things to come.

In Green fleet Maya Cantwell represented Victoria and we think is deserving of the cutest kid award. Congratulations Maya!

As always can happen a few sailors were unlucky in some races however we continue to be impressed by the sportsmanship demonstrated by all our juniors. You have earned the respect of your fellow competitors.

The Victorian Opti fleet is fortunate to have a strong fleet who are friends and enjoy this positive environment.

Thank you to SLMASC and Australian Sailing for a great Regatta. Keep safe driving home everyone.

YAY FOR TEAM VIC !!!
