VIODA COACHING EOI
VIODA is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from coaches for it’s VOST Team,
Development Team as well as Intermediate/Green Fleet. The purpose of this would be to
work together over the coming years to develop young sailors aiming to keep in State and
National events for the coming 2024/25 season with a pathway towards the 2027
National event at Royal Brighton Yacht Club. Candidates would be working closely
together with VIODA Head Coach Jack Lewis having the following experience and
qualifications:
• AS Coaching Accreditation (or support will be provided by VIODA towards this)
• Current Boat Driver’s License including AS Safety Boat certificate (or working
towards)
• Current Victorian Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid qualification with CPR
• Proven & relevant performance coaching experience with some focus on the
Optimist class (handling, tuning and rigging)
• Ability to work in collaboration with and assist club coaches to optimise sailor
development and inclusiveness
• Ability to contribute to the development of the VIODA culture and environment
• Potential to see themselves as a core for a Pathway program for young sailors over
the next 2-3 years with goal of fielding a diverse group in yearly national
championships with an eye on development through to the 2027 Nationals at
RBYC
Defined terms of agreement including renumeration, key regattas, KPIs and conduct
bringing a stronger relationship between yacht clubs and sailors will be set forth and
agreed with individual applicants.

Submissions will be accepted up to 30th April 2024. The committee will start the
application process immediately from date of the EOI.
