As the winter season approaches, Victorian International Optimist Dinghy Association (VIODA) is excited to invite OPTI sailors to participate in our LEGENDARY Winter Sailing Program! This program offers a unique opportunity for young sailors to hone their skills, stay active, and have fun on the water during the colder months. We want to assist sailing clubs by keeping their sailors active in winter and see them return to their home clubs sharper, faster and energized just in time for Spring!

In order to start planning, we suggest you pencil in the following dates and we will confirm this in April. All trainings will be held at Albert Sailing Club, Albert Park Lake.

1st Block:

In addition to our regular program dates, there are some exciting events lined up throughout the season to keep in mind.
- June 22/23: Top of the Lake (Albert Sailing Club)

- July 13/14: Wintersail (Albert Park Yacht Club)

- September 7/8: All Women and Girls CitySail (Albert Park Yacht Club)

Our winter program will focus on skill development, tactical racing techniques, and fostering a love for sailing in a supportive and encouraging environment. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches, practice with their peers, and participate in friendly competitions.

Whether your child is new to green fleet or looking to improve their skills, our program welcomes Opti sailors of all levels. We provide coaching tailored to individual abilities, ensuring that each participant receives the guidance they need to succeed and enjoy their time on the water to prepare young sailors for the next sailing season at their home clubs.
